Having bariatric surgery is a real lifesaver for most people who have been in a constant battle with obesity. Long-term weight loss is no easy feat. Everyone hits that point where it gets really hard and you feel like you are doing everything right but still aren’t losing weight. Without a proper foundation, nutrition, and lifestyle changes your pouch can stretch.

If you think you lose weight fast after weight loss surgery, it can be even faster to gain weight after stretching your pouch. In light of this common problem, this 10-day pouch reset diet was created by Mexico Bariatric Center, to reset your diet and start losing weight again.

The Pouch Reset is for

What is the Pouch Reset Diet?

The pouch reset diet is almost identical to the post-op diet after bariatric surgery, although each “phase” is shorter. Before starting the Pouch Reset Diet, you need to understand what it is.

The gastric bypass and gastric sleeve post-op diets are similar for our patients. They involve 4 phases that last around 1 week per phase. The 4-week post-op diet is ultimately compacted to create this 5 to 10-day pouch reset diet.

The point of the pouch reset diet is to restrict the amount of food and types of food that you eat. Our nutritionist created this 10-day pouch reset diet to get back in the mindset of healthy living while resetting your stomach to its appropriate size.
