As a part of her training, she studied under the world-renowned bariatric professor, Dr. Juan Corvala, for two years in JCI accredited Hospital Angeles. During that time, Dr. Valenzuela studied various bariatric surgeries and obesity surgeries including; Gastric Sleeve, RNY Gastric Bypass, Gastric Mini-Bypass, Gastric Banding, Gastric Plication, Revision Surgery. Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela has gone through advanced and continuing education in obesity surgery. She is a regular attendee of bariatric and metabolic seminars and conferences, like the IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorder). Dr. Valenzuela has attended courses in adjustable gastric lap-band, gastric sleeve (VSG), obesity surgery, and mechanical hemorrodopexia.
