Here is the standard Travel Itinerary for our weight loss surgery packages. Once you schedule your surgery date and secure your deposit, you will automatically receive your complete booking details.
Day 1: Arrive in San Diego
One of our drivers will be waiting for you upon arrival at San Diego International Airport. Make sure your flight arrives before 12:00 pm PST (before noon). Your driver will take you across the border. A few blocks across the San Ysidro border is our Hospital and Hotel. You will get pre-op testing and then be driven to check-in at the #2 rated Hotel in Tijuana. Our staff will help you check in and answer any questions you have!
● Bloodwork Pre-Op Labs and EKG
● Stay the night at the Hotel
Day 2: Surgery Day
You will be picked up from the hotel early for your surgery. Stay the night in the hospital.
- Pick you up and take you to surgery. The time of surgery is in the morning, and you will be notified of the surgery time the day before
- Stay 2 Nights in the Hospital for gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, and mini gastric bypass
Day 3: Recovery at Hospital
Recover in hospital—Post-op testing and recovery. Make sure you walk around and drink a lot of water!
- Post-op testing is completed before discharge
Day 4: (**for Gastric Sleeve Surgery, Gastric Bypass, and Mini Bypass**)
The driver will pick you up from the hospital and take you to the airport for departure.
- Drive you to the airport
- Plan flight after 2:00 pm or after 3:00 pm (weekends)
Day 4 : (**for Duodenal Switch and some Revision Surgeries**)
On Day 4, you will remain at the hospital for an extra night to recover.
- Final night stays at the hospital
Day 5: (ONLY for Duodenal Switch and some Revision Surgeries)
The driver will pick you up from the hospital and take you to the airport for departure.
- Drive you to the airport
- Plan flight after 2:00 pm or after 3:00 pm (weekends)

I am only a patient, but I was told yesterday that you can drive to San Diego airport or even into Tijuana for your surgery. Only one stipulation though, you have to bring a companion to drive you home after your surgery. Good luck!
Closest flight out post op I cd get was 145 for last day??? Is that ok??
That should be fine. We typically get patients to the airport by about 10 am, but sometimes there is traffic. Just let your driver know when you arrive =)

What days are surgeries performed?
Hello Misti, We perform surgeries pretty much everyday including weekends.

Do we have to take a friend? Where will they stay?

Is the hotel fee included in my cost for surgery? Is there an additional fee to have my companion stay in the hotel while I’m mandated to spend several nights in the hospital?
Hi Shadey, the hotel fee for the patient is included in our surgery packages. If you want to bring a companion, there is an added fee of $275-$390 depending on your procedure.
I have no one to go with me. Can I come alone?
