In Paul’s words, “Mexico Bariatric Center sets you up for success beyond what you find in the United States.”

I thought that I was meant to heavy the rest of my life. For a living I am a truck driver, so not a lot of activity.  In our houses, we only had mirrors from here (neck) and above. As a heavy person, you don’t need to be reminded that you are heavy. Every day that you walk out into the world, trust me, people are going to tell you that you are overweight.

I knew I had a problem when my doctor had told me that if you’ve been overweight for 20+ years of your life, the chances of you seeing 50  are pretty bad. 40 years old with kids it’s emotional you know. I had to do something. When I went down and did the surgery I had made my mind up that day that I’m not going to fail.

When I left MBC there was so much energy and so much hope. MBC is giving you a tool it’s not a quick fix. It’s not something we swallow and family wakes up the next day and we’re going to be skinny if you don’t follow through with what they’re telling you in a way to change your lifestyle it’s not going to work. I’m happy to say now in my house a full-length mirror.

Sometimes I look in that manner and I don’t see what you guys see right now still psychological I still got to get through it for me personally I didn’t want to resort back to those old habits but the temptation is still there. Through all the weight loss that you’re losing, you’re going through a lot of psychological stuff too. I noticed that we buy stuff to make ourselves feel good. If you’re going to invest any amount of money invested in yourself. One of the things I like to say to myself all the time is if I’m going to cheat I’m only cheating on myself. If I can leave you with one thing: Invest in yourself. You have family members you have a spouse you have kids you have got to do it. There is hope.

Winning Free Gastric Sleeve in Mexico

Paul was invited to a free seminar that we hosted in Oregon where he got to see former patients get up and share their stories just as he has done now. And at the seminar that Paul initially attended, he was given the fortune of being drawn as the winner of a free gastric sleeve surgery.

Since undergoing his bariatric surgery in Tijuana, Mexico, Paul has been spreading the word to those who are in the same place he was not too long ago. Paul was kind enough to invite us out to Portland, Oregon to host another one of our seminars and we kindly accepted. At this workshop, Paul brought along friends and gave a remarkable talk on his experience.

The video below is of his full testimonial that he shared at the seminar during which he nearly comes to tears. He offers a very real, genuine, and straightforward look into what it was like going in for surgery and how it’s been for him since.

“I’m happy to say now in my house…I have a full-length mirror. Sometimes I look in that mirror…and I don’t see what you guys see right now. Still psychological and I still gotta get through it.”
