How to Lose Weight [Popular Methods]

So with these climbing obesity rates and all of these challenges faced today in terms of achieving long-term weight loss success, what are the best options?

  1. Diet – extremely low chance of success
  2. Exercise – if incorporated with diet, still very unlikely to succeed
  3. Drug Therapy – more effective than diet and exercise but still little results and requires medication
  4. Bariatric Surgery – the most effective solution for weight loss

The chart below shows just what can be expected in terms of the amount of weight loss in a 3 to 5-year period.

As seen in the chart above, bariatric surgery presents a much more favorable rate of weight loss alongside higher success rates in keeping it off. The top-performing surgeries in the chart based on expected weight loss are gastric bypass and gastric sleeve surgery. The effects of obesity from these procedures have high success rates and low risks. The risk of obesity far surpasses the risk of bariatric surgery.

Gastric sleeve (VSG) for instance, is currently the most sought-after surgical option that most patients undergo. And when compared to diet and exercise alone, you can see that there is a tremendous difference in the amount of weight loss.

There are of course other options out there as well as revision surgery such as gastric sleeve revision for those who are looking to alter a previous weight loss surgery. To determine which procedure is right for you, it is recommended that you fill out a pre-screen and have a patient coordinator help determine the answer.

I did a lot of research and chose MBC based on doctors and reputation. I booked and scheduled surgery for May 2016. I have no issues with traveling to Mexico; I travel there several times a year. Very safe!!!! I was more comfortable being in Tijuana than in downtown Seattle. My surgery was very uneventful and had no complications. The nursing care I received was fine, but for my roommate who had complications, it wasn’t as attentive as it should have been. I paid extra to have my husband stay at the hotel the whole time which I was glad because when I returned to the hotel, I went upstairs immediately. Others had to wait for a couple of hours. Once home, any questions I had were answered promptly. I would highly recommend to anyone considering VGS to use MBC and any of their surgeons. I have lost 40 pounds so far and feel terrific. Wish I had done this years ago!
