Deposit, Refund, & Cancellation Policy

Mexico Bariatric Center (MBC) posts its deposit, refund, and cancellation policy that is documented on the Health Questionnaire (HQ) and the Consent Form. This policy applies to all surgeons and surgery types at MBC. If you have any questions regarding these policies, please contact your patient coordinator.

Deposit and Booking Bariatric Surgery:

  1. Security Deposit: A deposit of $350.00 non-refundable (U.S. dollars) must be made on the day of scheduling your surgery. If you make a deposit via wire transfer or direct deposit, please fax a copy of the wire transfer or the direct deposit receipt with your name on it to 1-855-453-2329 to ensure proper credit. Any deposit under $500 USD is non-refundable.
  2. Remaining Balance Deposit: Fifteen (15) days prior to surgery, the client needs to pay the entire remaining balance of the surgery. Patients are required to have a zero balance prior to travel to Mexico.  If canceling or postponing the surgery the remaining balance deposit will be governed by our refund and cancellation policy (found below).

Refunds and Cancellation Policy: Security Deposit & Remaining Balance Deposit

Due to the preparation costs, (i.e., hotel reservations, booking time and hospital room, scheduling transportation, nutritional consultation, scheduling of hospital staff, supplies ordered based on surgery schedule, etc.), all refunds will be handled based on the following criteria:

  1. If surgery is CANCELLED due to a medical condition discovered during the pre-operative period or if it is determined that the operation cannot proceed due to safety reasons, a refund may be provided minus any costs incurred by Mexico Bariatric Center, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodations, pre-­op test(s), doctor fees, processing fee ($25.00) nutritional consultation ($150.00), etc.
  2. If surgery is POSTPONED due to a medical condition discovered during the pre­-operative period, a full credit of the security deposit will be applied towards subsequent surgery minus any costs incurred by Mexico Bariatric Center, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodations, pre­-op test(s), doctor fees, etc.
  3. If the client cancels the surgery within 15 days or less before the ORIGINAL surgery date then 30% of the total package cost will be forfeited.
  4. If the client cancels the surgery within 31 to 45 days before the ORIGINAL surgery date then a 60% refund minus any costs incurred by Mexico Bariatric Center, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodations, pre-­op test(s), doctor fees, processing fee ($25.00) nutritional consultation ($150.00), etc.
  5. If the client cancels the surgery with 46 days or more before the ORIGINAL surgery date then a full refund will be provided minus any costs incurred by Mexico Bariatric Center, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodations, pre­-op test(s), doctor fees, processing fee ($25.00) nutritional consultation ($150.00), etc.
  6. If surgery is canceled because the patient fails to comply with MBC’s requirements (payment, consent forms, documentation, etc.), it will be subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of the total package cost.
  7. If the patient does not comply with the pre­-operative instructions given by medical staff, it will be subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of the total package cost.
  8. If surgery is rescheduled, all cancellation rules and policies apply to the ORIGINAL scheduled date.
  9. All cancellations must be received by Mexico Bariatric Center in writing, via email, or fax.
  10. Please allow ~8 to 12 weeks for processing refunds.
  11. In the event that collections are necessary, the cost/fees incurred by SOURCiS, Inc. (dba Mexico Bariatric Center) will be applied to your balance owed.
  12. If you reschedule more than once, there will be a $500 USD penalty due.
  13. If you reschedule less than 2 weeks prior to surgery you will lose your discounted rate from the original pricing.
  14. I understand I am responsible for any fees my credit card provider may charge for card usage outside the U.S.
  15. 15 days advance notice is required for cancellation of the hotel to be eligible for a refund.
